How to create a custom GPT

Requirement: you need an OpenAI Plus account.

Configure your GPT

There are two ways to create a custom GPT, the “Create” method which is like a chat interface, and the “Configure” method, which I personally prefer. The interface looks like this:

Name: Give it a name!

Description: Describe in a few lines the main purpose of your GPT.

Instructions:

Here are a few things you can specify in the instructions.

Purpose: Clearly define the primary goal and intended use of the GPT. This section should concisely describe what the GPT is designed to do and its main function.

Capabilities: Detail the specific abilities and features of the GPT. This part should enumerate the various tasks the GPT can perform, such as content creation, ideation, editing, etc.

Interaction style: Describe how the GPT should interact with users. This includes the tone, approach, and overall communication style of the GPT, whether it's creative, supportive, analytical, etc.

Usage Scenarios: Provide examples of situations or contexts where the GPT would be particularly useful. This helps in understanding the practical application of the GPT's capabilities.
